Welcome to all colleagues and friends from around the world who have somehow found yourself at the end of my PreK-Gr.6 rainbow, the sharperteaching.com website.  Like most new ventures, it retained phantom status for seemingly such a long time. There were starts and stops, delays and procrastinations, grand rethinking of ideas, interruptions and , yes, sometimes just other things that had to be done. However, here I am. The phantom has finally materialized and I now really feel the responsibility of keeping my living, breathing site current and plum full of quality materials so you will have lots of choice. . . in short, living up to its reputation as "sharperteaching.com".

My vision is to provide a website where members can download quality teaching resources and other useful information to assist them in the important work of teaching. I also feel strongly the need to provide a place where we can ask each other questions, share our professional experiences and expertise, and help our colleagues in meaningful ways. Teachers are the world's best sharers. . . I know, because I am one of them.

I know there are other educational resources web sites out there, and they all have a role to play. But I'd like to believe that there is always room for one more. Teachers are some of the world's most creative thinkers, and we need accessible places for this creativity to thrive, grow and be shared.

We are starting slowly. As there is not yet the product volume that is available elsewhere, I am offering an excellent Subscription Launch Special for 2010. I invite you to become one of the first 200 Site Charter Members! In these tough economic times, I have tried to keep the cost reasonable so that anyone who wants to can join,  I will be adding to the collection frequently to build lots of product choices for you, so be sure to check back often to see what is new in "What's New".

I have also tried to make the materials "user-friendly" by offering each product, where necessary, in both 8.5 x 11 and A4 paper sizes to suit the needs of teachers in any part of the world.  A free Adobe Reader link is on each product page as materials will be in pdf file format.  Later, other special features will include activities designed especially to be used on the SmartBoard (interactive white board) using Notebook Software for those of you who have access to this technology, and  downloadable  music in mp3 format to accompany some of the materials for young children. Offering innovative materials that will meet most state and provincial school district learning outcomes is also a priority .

Thanks for taking time to visit and read. I know how busy teachers are. Drop me a comment in the Communication Box if you can. Let's get this site rolling! I look forward to sharing with you.  Have the best day ever!

Collegially yours,
